Combs I decided that it was time that I got out of breeding and showing my bunnies. My herd has been quietly and completely dispersed and I am no longer in bunnies. There is a possiblty that I will again be breeding and showning after a few years have passed bury wihout my gramma it just isn't feasable at this time. I am extremely happy with all that I was able to accomplish in this short period of time in which I was actively breeding and showing. I achieved becoming he number one youth breeder for all the yeArs that I showed. I showed mostly in open and won numerous best in shows and grander many rabbits. I won the highest award posible to be achieved in the rabbit world BISY at the 2007 ARBA Convention with GC Countyside Paris. My time was well spent. Thank you gramma for helping my accomplish all that I did. I bope to still attend a few showed each year. Hope to see you there!!

Cheryl L Combs

I am extremely saddened to say that on July 31st, 2009 my wonderful and supportive grandmother, Cheryl, better known in the bunny world by "Tamika" passed away. In the Open all breed show my White Sr Doe who doesn't have a name yet won BOV. Wool grows back! But becuase they are still young and are not proven breeding animals they are at lower than normal prices! $85 for Sambucca and $115 for Serina.

Countryside Premonitions may be clipped but she is a killer bunny who is a proven mom. She is also a littermate to the doe that I won CONVENTION with GC Countryside Paris. Also I do not really want to sell her but I am out of cage space. That is why she is $450

Countryside Goddess is another killer who I am sure would have several BIS if she had not been clipped when she was a jr. I was very ill with the flu in spring and she had to be clipped. She is a littermate to GC Countryside Desiree who has TWO OPEN BIS. Goddess is also a proven dam. So she is $350

I am only 15 and I am not "money hungry" as someone tried to imply. I ask what I feel my bunnies are worth not a penny more. I do not use the Money for anything other than the bunnies too! I pay to go to all the shows with bunny money. As for that I can ask what I please as they are my bunnies. I do work with people when they cannot afford bunnies and try to find a way for them to be able to get a good bunny.

So everyone...while you may not like the prices that I have asked that is ok becuase they are for sale...that doesn't mean that you have to buy them. I am sorry if you don't like my prices but I have done my best to explain to you my reasoning. Thanks for your time!

Countryside Bunny wins BIS!

Last Sunday my good friend Dru Shepard won BIS OPEN with Countryside LJ Wyatt a tort Jr. buck bred myself and sired by GC Silvertone Jesse James and out of Reg. School will also be starting soon and I need to focus more of time into my work with that, so I have decided to do a slight herd reduction and a few top quality bunnies will be available! Many at very low prices! Here is some of what I have already decided to sell. Others WILL be added to the list!

Countryside Sambucca
White Sr. Buck
BIS GC Adore's Emily X Hunneshagen's Nikko
$85
Wonderfull buck! I was going to show him and keep him for a future breeding sire here at my rabbitry but with so many bunnies to take care of I had to clip him as I did not have the time to maintain yet another coat and I have more bunnies out of this cross that will be convention jrs so I don't really need him. He has a wonderful little body and superb lines! Will be a great sire!

Countryside Premonitions
Black Tort Sr. Doe
Reg. Silvertone Jester X Reg. Countryside Promise(3 legs)
$450
Full littermate to BIS GC Countryside Paris who I won BIS at convention with last year! I really need room and I really hate to put this doe up for sale. If she doesn't sell that's fine with me too. She is JUST as killer as Paris is and is proven as a brood doe! WONDERFUL BUNNY!

Countryside Goddess
Blue Tort Sr. Doe
GC Countryside Mohammed X R/W/B Reg Silvertone Drama Queen
$350
Full littermate to GC Countryside Desiree who I won two OPEN BIS with this spring! THis doe is just gorgeous! She will come clipped down. She is a proven brood doe. Wonderful type and great wool!

Countryside Serina
Blue tort Sr. Doe
BIS GC Adore's Emily X Hunneshagen's Nikko
$115
Beautiful tort doe! She is a Tort Jr Doe (until the 15th) Sired by Countryside Mohammed and her Dam is Silvertone Drama Queen. She is truly gorgeous with awesome deep color! She is a half sister to Countryside Moonshine! I am so grateful I was able to save another coat that I thought was ruined while I was sick! She isn't perfectly back in shape yet and has a chewed spot on her coat growing back in but I am very happy and I hope to show her at Olean this weekend along with moonShine and my jr. doe!!!

Pictures of MoonShine!

Here are some pictures of Countryside MoonShine a Black tort Jr. Doe that is currently our main show animal! She has done fairly well so far and I can't wait to see how she does at the Olean show on the 12th!!! I didn't win much with my 2 1/2 month old jr. doe or my 5 month old sr. doe but I still had a great time! The junior doe was one of the blue tort does out of the Jesse James and Mudslide litter and she did win the colored jr. doe class is the first show out of a whopping two rabbits. The sr. doe is really a jr. out of the Mariah and Mohammed and her name is Countryside MoonShine. She had to be shown in the sr. class becuase she was over junior weight. I am very pleased with the type on these animals! They have absolutly gorgeous bodies with lots of width carried all the way to the table!

My good friend Lori from Liberty Junction Angoras who owns Countryside Promise was there and she did great! She won BOS in the first show with Countryside Jasper and her amazing colored doe Countryside Cher was 2nd in a large and tough sr. doe class in both shows, you better be watching for Cher this spring! Lori had purchased Promise bred to Frick last August and these babies are a product of that. WAY TO GO LORI!

I also got to meet Catherine Styles of Buttercup Bunnies who is purchasing BIS GC Bbeary's Sposabella from Jessica Roberts. She was a wonderful person and I am happy to say that she reserved the GREAT REW buck available out of Drama Queen. So he is no longer available! Jessica was also at the Fulton show and we had a great time! Her rabbits looked great and her little buck GBF's Legend was just adorable! There was a woman coming around and said she was from a local radio station and asked us a bunch of questions and recoreded our answers it was a little odd but it was fun!

Brenda Hunneshagen who has incredible rabbits and has absolutly phenominal brokens was at the show and it was a treat to get to see her becuase Brenda and I are good friends but she doesn't come to shows that often anymore. Brenda won BOB in the first show with a REW sr. doe. Of Course Linda Cassella was there and she won BOB in the 2nd show with GC Silvertone Miss Lover Letters who was the 2nd place colored jr. doe at convention.

I am updating my website today so check it out at http://burnsangoras.tripod.com

Thats all for now! I fell extremely sick with the flu...not just the stomach flu or a touch of the flu but the FULL ON :( flu. SO I was horribly sick... my fever went up to 107 and I was out of it. After your temperature goes over 106 you can begin to have seizures luckily I did not, but I was extremely sick for over a week and I am still not feeling the best. I have lost an incredible 19 pounds in just over a week from not being able to eat. So I was unable to properly care for my bunnies. I still had to somehow muster the strength to get out of bed and go outside and across the yard which may not seem far normally but when you normally wouldn't be able to stand but know you have aniamls to take care of and get up it is a momentous task! My sister and brother helped but were way less than enthusiastic so I also had to supervise and deal with two very "unhappy to be helping" siblings. I ended up losing one of BIS GC Countryside Paris' babies so now I am down to 2. I also lost one of BIS GC Adore's Emily's babies as well in her litter 4 remain. My show coats look like crap becuase I couldn't groom and my cages went a whole week without getting cleaned, HOW SHAMEFUL! That is what I was truly disgusted over...it was not at all far to my bunnies!

Things are going back to normal in the bunny barn, very slowly, but they are going there. The first thing that was done was the cages were cleaned..that goes without saying! I am a huge believer in sanitation and good animal husbandry! The bunnies are now in a line up to be groomed and get ready for the fast approaching spring show season. Hopefully everyone will be looking there best before the first show. But I am still not feeling my best so these things take time along with making up a royal ton of schoolwork!

Some pictures that were taken before I came down with the flu! First is one of my jr. does for the spring line-up...a black tort out of the Mariah X Mohammed litter! She is stunning with wool to burn. Wondeful body with a great full hindquater and nice full shoulders, very smooth, risey and compact. This is a truly stunning jr. doe!

In my sr. litters I have: Silvertone Drama Queen; 5 REW; 4 Does 1 Buck 2nd pic

Countryside Paris; 2 Black tort Does 3rd pic (was three)

Countryside Mariah; 2 Black tort buck 4th pic

Adore's Emily; 1 Black Doe, 1 Blue Tort Doe, 1 REW Buck, 1 Black tort Buck (no pic)

These litters should be awesome! Waiting lists have been started so if you will be looking to purchase bunnies at or before convention now is the time to get your name down, while you can still get one!

BIS GC Adore's Emily Has Babies(Finally!)!!

Today BIS GC Emily had 6 babies! Yay! I was hoping for a good black to show and convention and it looks like I got one! She had what looks like 2 Black tort bucks, 1 REW doe, 1 Black Doe, 1 tort doe( this one most likely won't make it though:(... ) But I was happy! Emily was bred to Hunneshagen's Nikko. This litter concludes the births of my sr. litters! In the end it looks like I have ended up with 16 total babies broken down into 10 coloreds and 6 whites. Oh, almost forgot I do have the older babies out of Countryside Mudslide as well!! :) As I said before a waiting lists have been started for ALL bunnies! GC Countryside Paris had hers, some in the box, others out of it. I thought they were all dead because some were so cold that they were actually frozen together but I held them each for a few minutes and three started moving. Then I looked at the other nest boxes and what do you know? Silvertone Drama Queen had 5 babies all in the box but didn't pull any wool. So I took them all up to Gramma's to get them warmed. Then warmed up two wash clothes and put them into two seperate holes in paris' nest box.

Well when we had stopped at my dads to check on the bunnies we had been on our way to Jack and Karin Baily's home in Lyons NY for an angora lunch and club meeting. So we took the baby bunnies in the car under the heater with us the whole way. I have always left the babies with the mother but for the 1st few days I will be keeping them seperate this time.

Today when I went out to the barn Countryside Mariah had built a gorgeous nest and had 5 babies in it. Unfortunatly only 2 of the babies were alive. So it looks like right now I have 10 sr.s to pick from for convention. GC Adore's Emily isn't due until the 23rd I guess(she was bred several times) so maybe I'll get a few more to pick from. I am expecting theses bunnies to be amazing!

Some of these bunnies will have to be sold in a couple months so email me to get onto the waiting list now!!! JJan1993@aol.com. Babies out of Paris will NOT be available until convention so email me now to get on the list for those too!!!

Rabbitry Updates!

Sorry everyone I know its been awhile since I posted! We don't have alot going on in the rabbitry right now but there are some updates! The babies out of Mudslide and Jesse James are doing great and getting big fast! Countryside Paris has finished her show career beating over 6,000 rabbits! Her biggest win was BIS youth ARBA Convention 2007 Grand Rapids MI. She won another youth BIS at the Wine Country show in Ithaca NY November 11th and finished her show career by earning her last GC with BOB OPEN at Rochester! She is the best rabbit bred by Countryside Angoras so far and at 10 months old is still fresh and would be competitive if I weren't cutting her show career short.

In my opinion she doesn't need any more stress, I mean come on what does another win mean when shes already won the biggest thing she could! My main reason for taking her off of the show circuit is to start her career as a mom. Hopefully bred to GC Silvertone Jesse James the first place colored sr. buck OPEN at Convention she will produce the 2008 BIS ARBA Convention Winner! I expect her to be a wonderful mother just like her mom and am very excited to start her breeding career! I will take pics of her in the next few days without her coat!

Our new litter of 4 out of Countryside Mudslide and sired by GC Silvertone Jesse James is doing great and growing by leaps and bounds! It looks like we have 2 blue torts and 2 black torts in this litter! I will be doing most of sr. breedings for the 2008 ARBA Convention is Louisville Kentucky this weekend! Countryside Angoras WILL be attending and we are already making plans to be successful again New pics soon plus our website at http://burnsangoras.tripod.com/ will soon be completely updated, so check back often!

Right now we have several awesome jr. does and one jr. buck available! My Favorite Thing!

Countryside Paris my BIS youth at this years ARBA CONVENTION won another youth BIS at the Wine Country Show in Ithaca, NY. I am so proud of her!!:) I will post pictures of some of the babies and our new barn in a coupel days!!!

I found another EXTREMELY WELL WRITTEN POST ON SHOW BEHAVIOR> PLEASE TAKE A LOOK!!! IT IS BELOW

SHOW ETIQUETTE

Written By: Amy Spang

At animal shows and public events, there are certain ways that participants are expected to conduct themselves and certain ways that they are expected to behave towards one other in addition to that.
The challenge for any event like this is for the best animal (object, or person) to win, and ALSO for everyone to come away feeling that they were treated fairly, the rules were followed, and no behind the scenes tampering took place in an attempt to 'bend the rules' and achieve a desired result.
In rabbit shows there are basic rules of conduct written into the ARBA regulations, but since people interpret them in different ways there is often a conflict as to what is 'legal' and what is not. Some rules are loosely worded and more or less subject to interpretation, but others are crystal clear and cannot be misinterpreted no matter how they are read, or how the event gets spun and reported down the line.
Some of the most important rules at rabbit shows involve conduct at the showtable during judging. After preparing and grooming your animals before a show, each class is called to the table and every animal is evaluated individually by the judge. The rules at every SINGLE ARBA show CLEARLY dictate that the judge is NOT, under any circumstances, to be advised of who owns the animal/s being presented in each class, or to receive that information indirectly through some other means. He/she should either turn their backs while the animals are being brought up or divert their attention in some other way to avoid bias and prejudice and to give every rabbit and exhibitor the benefit of the doubt. In addition to this, ear numbers are not to be checked or viewed until after the animals have been placed, and the judge must identify them in order to make comments and register the placements.
On the exhibitor's end, each showperson is expected to place their rabbit into the cubby, and step AWAY from the table in order to avoid identifying themselves as the owner of the animal/s. Exhibitors are NOT allowed to make comments of ANY sort with the intent of influencing the judge, they are NOT permitted to identify their rabbits, and they are not permitted to make comments regarding the faults and merits of ANYONE ELSE'S entries. Behaviors such as these are not only illegal (and a flagrant breach of ethics to say the least), but they shed a bad light on the breed, other breeders, and the perpetrator in particular who cannot let the quality of his/her rabbits speak for itself but feels compelled to take things one step further by making underhanded attempts to influence the outcome of the competition.
There are days when all of us have made mistakes and conducted ourselves less than perfectly under less than perfect circumstances. There are judges who identify animals prematurely, watch exhibitors as the animals are brought to the table, and who allow themselves to be influenced by unscrupulous breeders one way or the other whether they realize it or not. Human error exists but is never unforgivable as long as the mistakes are recognized, corrected, and do not happen on a regular basis. By the same token, there are breeders who unintentionally make comments about their animals or stand close to the table, and even commit illegal acts during shows without being aware of it. Open judging coops often make it necessary for exhibitors to stand behind the tables in order to hold the rabbits in, and there are other conditions (less than perfect, again) that require intervention on behalf of an exhibitor or judge that could also technically be termed 'illegal'. These situations are no one's fault and can happen at any show, but the distinction I want to make does not involve a lack of judgment at the hands of new and inexperienced exhibitors, but COMPLETELY unacceptable behavior by some of our best and most experienced breeders, at the biggest and most important rabbit shows in the world.
This is obviously a rant and a very opinionated article, but I believe that something needs to be said about this topic before the reputation angora people have earned for being 'difficult' becomes carved in stone for Millenia. It is important to note that there is NO--I repeat NO excuse for manipulative and unethical behavior on the part of any breeder, no matter how experienced, and no matter how famous. It is NOT okay to lean over the showtable and drape oneself over the holding pens (particularly when the rabbits are boxed in and there is no legitimate reason to be near them), and it is NOT okay to make influential comments and conversation with the judge during judging. It is not okay to work behind the scenes to influence the appointment of judges, placement of judges, and judging decisions, and it is never, EVER alright to use clout or pull that has been acquired through years of experience to arrange the matter ahead of time and 'stack' the deck in your favor. Actions such as these do not go unnoticed, and contrary to what these exhibitors may think, they are not helping themselves or anyone else (much less their individual breeds) by behaving in a way that can only politely be described as 'unsportsmanlike' and 'undignified'. If a breeder is good enough to produce animals who win by their own merit 9 times out of 10 over long periods of time, then they are good enough not to have to engage in questionable behavior for any reason, EVER, and they should have the security to stand by themselves and let the quality of their entries speak for themselves.
There are some outstanding judges in the rabbit world, and some equally wonderful long term breeders who set the gold standard for behavior with their grace and humility under pressure. Rabbits, breeding, and showing aside, it is humbling to see that there are people of this caliber setting examples for our youth on how to grow up and handle adversity in every possible situation. Their excellent qualities transcend rabbits to make the world a better place, and this is something that we ALL need to aspire to.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://countrysideangoras.blogspot.com/2007/11/shows-my-favorite-thing.html' title='Shows! I feel that it should TRULY be a blind judging. So take a look at the paragraph written below and compare yourself to it. If you find that you have some of these "nasty" habits, CHANGE THEM! I think the most proper way for judging was for group and BIS! It was completly anonymous!

"The ARBA Convention for 2007 has come and gone. Most of us are still tired and trying to catch up on chores at home. Tonight I was reflecting on the highest level of competition we as rabbit breeders participate in. The protocol for blind judging should give every exhibitor a fair and unbiased assessment from a qualified judge. Coop numbers and rabbit runners should assure anonymity. Exhibitors must refrain from "table talk" either with the judge or close to the judge. Perhaps as exhibitors we should be more careful to treat Convention; its judges and all exhibitors with more respect. The judge should not know who the owner is until BOB is over. The rabbits condition, type, and adherence to the Standard of Perfection should be the only thing judged. We do not compete with people; we compete with the Standard. The prize is in creating the most correct example of the English Angora possible. The real happiness comes from doing you best job, attending to details and loving care of your rabbits.and as my mother used to say: play nice"WRITTEN BY SILVERTONE ANGORAS!!

A Tribute!!

I think that the best buck that I have ever bred was GC Countryside Mohammed. I currently have three litters sired by GC Countryside Mohammed that are growing up! They are just about the cutest things that you could ever see. Little apple round heads, small ears, everything you could want in 4 week old babies!

Well I think that my BIGGEST mistake so far in the business was selling GC Countryside Mohammed 1 week after I bred these 3 does to him. Yes the money did pay for my trip to ARBA convention where we won the highest honor of Youth BIS with Countryside Paris a 3/4, littermate to GC Countryside Mohammed but I have the loss of not being to use him anymore. I have also sold his mother and father. I do have 2 remaing sisters Reg. Countryside Mariah and Countryside Mudslide! I also have two 3/4 sisters to him as well.

These babies I think are just going to be FANTABULOUS! I am really excited as they will be my entry for the 2008 Angora Nationals in Missouri. I just wish that he was still here with me as he hit the show tables with a SLAM and apparently is a wonderful producer. Oh well GC Countryside Mohammed is now living with a wonderful woman in Canada.

I have included a picture of GC Countryside Mohammed as a 4 month old Jr.!

Home at last, with good news to boot!!

We went to convention expecting to do well, we just didn't know that "well" would mean BIS youth at the 84th ARBA convention!! Countryside Paris took the BIS honors! She is sired by Silvertone Jester whom I sold to Kristine of huntersridge farm. Kristine also purchased two of Paris' littermates.

Although convention was "insane" we had a good time. One thing that did upset me was that when I got my checkout packet I found that Countryside Premonitions who was entered in the open competition and is a littermate to Countryside Paris somehow got scratched by one of the runners!! Oh well there's always next time.

In the open competition Jesse James my colored Sr. buck won his class of 15!!!! Emily my BIS open doe placed 2Nd in a class of 25 colored Sr. does! I am very happy with my results! I also got my pin from NARBC and I was 1st place by almost 1000 points! All were open points though. This convention was the first time I have showed youth. I will continue to show open and only at convention put one or two bunnies in youth.

We have three new litters to report as well. Silvertone Drama Queen bred to Reg.GC Countryside Mohammed has 5 beautiful babies. 4 of which are blue torts and 1 black tort.

Reg. Countryside Mariah bred to Reg.GC Countryside Mohammed also has 5 babies. She has 4 black torts and one that looks like a blue tort. One unexpected litter Countryside Daisy bred to Hunneshagen's Nikko it looks like one blue baby. One thing that I want to put in the blog today is the importance of risers for convention!<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Come on angora breeders you know how much ya need em. Make sure that you have your risers completed before we leave for convention! As always be sure to bring EXTRA pieces of wire because most likely the cages won't be the size they are supposed to be. You really should make them so that they are at least 1 and 1/2 inches above the floor but for me 2 inches is preferred.

When people make the risers that are only 1 inch off the floor long coats go right through the wire and soil.

<?xml:namespace prefix = v ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:vml" /><v:shapetype id="_x0000_t75" stroked="f" filled="f" path="m@4@5l@4@11@9@11@9@5xe" coordsize="21600,21600" spt="75" preferrelative="t"><v:stroke joinstyle="miter"></v:stroke><v:formulas><v:f eqn="if lineDrawn pixelLineWidth 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 1 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum 0 0 @1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @2 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @3 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @0 0 1"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @6 1 2"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelWidth"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @8 21600 0"></v:f><v:f eqn="prod @7 21600 pixelHeight"></v:f><v:f eqn="sum @10 21600 0"></v:f></v:formulas><v:path gradientshapeok="t" extrusionok="f" connecttype="rect"></v:path><o:lock aspectratio="t" ext="edit"></o:lock></v:shapetype><v:shape id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5118961057551505378" style="WIDTH: 24pt; HEIGHT: 24pt" href="http://bp3.blogger.com/_-qjQtopAnkE/Rwoz9d5qV-I/AAAAAAAAABs/7GWGo0wTLKU/s1600-h/001.JPG" alt="" type="#_x0000_t75" spid="_x0000_i1025" button="t"></v:shape>

I have also included a picture of our colored buck for convention! She met me when I went out to angora nationals in May. Ever since then she has just adored me. I have included a picture of her with her bunny snowball. We will be sharing a room with Kristine and Katherine at convention. Katherine is so excited.

Katherine has taken the dutch as her project and she has done VERY well. She won the best steel display youth at dutch nationals with only two rabbits entered! Katherine is only about 4 so this is a huge accomplishment! She is a big help in the bunny barn, she helps her mom feed and water every night. She picks which rabbits she wants bred and even checks the babies when they are born. This is one intelligent little lady!!

I have two does due October 12th:
Reg. We live out in the country so our road is a prime spot for people to dump trash and even live pets!!!!

Well last week my grandmother(the famed Tamika, her nickname from De and Linda) was driving down the road and there just around the last curve by the bridge was a small dog. It was running in circles in the middle of the road obviously lost and afraid and would surely be squashed if something wasn't done!

Well grandma(real name Cheryl) stopped the car and opened her door. In bounded the little dog!!! So grandma brought her home and then went to the store to pamper this pooch!! ~She is only about 8 pounds and is the true meaning of a lap dog!!~ We just love her!!

Were aren't so sure that my sister's two kittens Oreo and Domino "love" her though! They got all the attention before she arrived and they have been shut up on the porch so she couldn't get to them. They are getting used to one another but there are the usually sudden outbursts of hissing, from the cats, and barking from the dog.

It looks like Molly(that's what we have decided to call the dog) will be staying!!! She is very sweet and we just can't understand why anyone would do such a thing! It makes us SICK.

I have also included pictures of some of our other animals including ex. house cat Fargo. My sister rescued him from the barn after his mother was hit by a car. Another drop off!!! Well we brought him home and for a while he was sweet then her turned mean because he couldn't go outside. So we took him up to the barn where he lives with his little friend Lola!

Our Newest Arrivals!!!

Well like I said before right now we only have one litter in the nest box! So I thought that I would take a couple of pictures to show y'all:) As you can see there are 4 bunnies. From left to right the colors are, lilac tort, black tort, blue, and a black. A very pretty litter indeed! I am very proud of their mother because although this is her third litter it is the first one that she could raise normally.

Her first litter was born 3 days late, all the babies were quite small and dead in a beautifully made nest! It was very sad because she wanted her babies. Her second litter she had one stuck so I gave her oxytocin and the first bunny was alive but bruised at birth and died minuets later. The next two were born on the wire. She hadn't made a nest so I had to do that. Those bunnies survived but I had to force her to feed them everyday until she got the hang of it.

This time I got home from school to check and sure enough there were 4 healthy bunnies in a beautiful nest! So I am very happy! This litter is special to me because their sire is Reg. GC Countryside Mohammed one of the best show bunnies I have bred. I sold him because just about all of my bunnies are his sisters. Their mother is Adore's In Question. I am expecting this litter to be FABULOUS!!!!!

Also pictured is Countryside Mudslide a 6 month old doe that is a full sister to Countryside Mohammed! She will be one of two does for our youth entry at convention!! She is a beautiful rabbit! She is out of my WONDER cross of Countryside Midnight Star bred to Silvertone Jester! I have kept so many bunnies from this cross that I let Kristine Leverich of WI buy both Midnight and Jester! Check out her blog at http://www.dutchworksrabbitry.blogspot.com/!!

TOMORROW I WILL POST ABOUT A MYSTERIOUS SOMETHING THAT MY FAMILY FOUND AT THE END OF OUR ROAD. SO CHECK BACK FOR MORE!!!!!

My email: JJan1993@aol.com

My Website: http://burnsangoras.tripod.com/

Countryside's Going to Convention!!!

Pictured above is My BIS doe Adore's Emily! The picture to the right is our colored doe line-up for convention! I picked Emily out at 8 weeks old and have groomed and cared for her since!

Here at Countryside Angoras we are all geared up for the Michigan Convention. We will be arriving on Friday so that we have plenty of time to get the bunnies comfortable in their cages before the crowd arrives.

My good friend Linda Cassella's theory is behind our arrival! As she has told me many times one of the MOST important aspects of convention is having your bunny(s) comfortable in the their cage. Since we are arriving on Friday the bunnies can have all of Saturday to just sit in their cages after the long trip(9 hours) and get used to the surroundings.

I am VERY excited about convention!!! This will be my first convention and I have only been breeding for almost 2 years. For those of you who don't know me my name is Collin Burns. I am only 14(going on 15) but I do show in open and will have bunnies entered in open at MI. Since I started showing I have taken over youth sweeps points and have done incredibly well. All of my points are earned in open though!!! I show against Linda Cassella((Silvertone Angoras)BIS ARBA convention 05' at INDY the largest ARBA convention EVER held and Best in Group last year as a combined entry with Margaret Barthold. They won with Silvertone Carmella) I am able to grand bunnies and recently won my first ALL BREED BIS!!!

Linda is my mentor and and has helped me a lot. I wouldn't be as far along as I am without her help!! I do put in the work that it takes to make a winning English and believe that every rabbit should have quality care!

I am taking bunnies to convention that I feel are quite beautiful!

I have one litter in the nest box now and have completed my fall breedings. These bunnies will be my entry for the Angora National Show in Sedalia Missouri. Some of these bunnies will be available so If you are interested email me at JJan1993@aol.com.
